The Cavendish Community Fund is a Vermont non-profit that has awarded grants since 2007 to local groups and individuals for educational, artistic, or cultural projects, programs, and events. The Fund’s aim is to enrich the community by building social connections that contribute to a vibrant Cavendish. Fund Directors are a cross section of our community and all are full time Cavendish residents. All awards benefit the people of Cavendish in some fashion.

Originally started in 2007, the Fund incorporated in 2018 and has continuously distributed money in accordance with its vision and mission. All funds are raised locally through various activities, and from donations by Cavendish residents and friends. Through the end of 2022 the Fund has distributed 64 grants to twenty individuals, nonprofits, schools, churches, and others in the community totaling more than $47,750. Such activities as plays, concerts, films, remodeling, classes, municipal beautification, etc. have benefited from grant awards. A typical award is between $500 and $1,000, and the request process is streamlined to make applying easy.

Recipients have found the availability of grants at such a local level a great way to start new projects and to help augment strained budgets. As the Fund continues to grow and continues to support Cavendish, we hope to encourage more social enrichment such as musical events, literary programs, education in all its aspects, and beautification of our community.

All of this action takes work and money, so if you would like to become involved or would like to donate, please contact us by mailing us at P.O. Box 154, Proctorsville, VT 05153, or by emailing cavendishcommunityfund@gmail.com.
